Himalayan Yoga Institute - Italia
The Himalayan Yoga Institute was founded in Florence in 1991 by its founder Swami Rama of the Himalayas. The aim of the Association is to spread the science of Yoga and its benefits.
 
Established on the basis of the ancient teachings of Raja Yoga, the Institute organizes its activity mainly through meetings, oriented to the knowledge of Yoga through the direct experience of Hatha Yoga and Meditation techniques, according to the Himalayan Tradition.
The main goal of the Institute is to let the Lineage Teachings flow, encouraging the fusion of Eastern and Western cultures in reaching a common vision of Global Health.
The Institute is also a place for studying the most significant Yoga texts, in order to deepen the theoretical knowledge of Yoga Philosophy, Psychology and Ethics, which has as direct consequences: education to peace, non-violence practice, respect for the environment and ethical and conscious feeding.
A gathering of people, cultures and experiences, a place where the principles of Yoga, meditation and global health are taught and related to daily life, in the process of seeking the global well-being of the individual body, mind and soul.
 
The Association organizes its activities through: courses of Hatha Yoga (addressed to people of all ages, with particular attention to specific categories, such as children, elderly, pregnant women); courses of Introduction to Meditation; practice of Meditation and satsangha; Nada Yoga; Yoga and dance; courses of Sanskrit; Meetings and Conferences; cooperation with the Municipality of Florence in disseminating yoga in public schools; four-year Teacher Training Programmes (part of the AHYMSIN International Training Programme), Workshops and Seminars with Teachers and Masters of the Himalayan Tradition, thus facilitating the approach to the traditional system of learning, from Master to disciple.
The Himalayan Yoga Institute is affiliated to AHYMSIN (Association of Himalayan Yoga Meditation Societies International) and is connected with the Sadhana Mandir Ashram and the Sadhaka Grama Village (SRSG) in Rishikesh, and with the main centres of the Himalayan Tradition in the world.
