"By loving all, a human being practices all the other great principles such as non-violence, truthfulness, non-possessiveness, contentment, and so on. Love and negativity cannot coexist. Love for all human beings purifies one’s heart. As a result, one’s consciousness expands. One redefines one’s conception of love, and instead of loving human beings alone, all of creation falls within the range of one’s love. The thread of love unites all the diversities into one non-dual, unitary consciousness. By loving all, one loves the universal soul, God. As supreme love unfolds, conflicts, differences, hatred, jealousy, and selfishness disappear once and for all. One who loves all, considering this universe to be a divine manifestation of the supreme Divine Force, attains knowledge of the non-dual, absolute Reality. He realizes the universe as his own elaboration."

Mauni Amavasya (Silence Day) is 11th February 2021. Swami Veda Bharati wrote:

“...there is also an annual silence day in the traditions of India. It is called Mauni Amavasya. Mauni means ‘of or for silence’, and amavasya means ‘no-moon day.’”
and
“...I would like many of my friends to set aside at least one day to share the silence with me just as you have shared the full moon day for an hour each month for more than a decade now.
“...If you plan from now, you can arrange your worldly affairs in such a way that they do not interfere with your one-day vow of silence.
“On that day, no driving (except for emergencies), no TV, no conversation, just self-observation, contemplation, japa and learning (1) to give love in silence while (2) learning to love silence.
“May I ask all our swamis, initiators, spiritual advisers, teachers, centre leaders to kindly popularize this concept and take this year to prepare the people to undertake this one-day vow of silence.”

Condolences to Indu Misra and family on the passing of Sudhansu Sekhar Misra (husband of 65+ years, parent, grandparent, and sadhaka) on January 14, 2021. The family has given generous and dedicated service to The Meditation Center for many years. “Dearest Indu, With hands-folded in namaste, blessings of condolence; with arms embracing in comforting consolation; with swami shawl of love surrounding you in silent prayerful sentiments; memories of long-life together fills your heart and fulfills the satiety of all karmic debts, rest now in the still-comfort of the Lineage. May Guru grant you the grace of peace and understanding, with all affection, swamiji”

The next Full Moon Meditation will be 28 January 2021. You are invited to sit in meditation for an hour wherever you are. Total beginners and longtime practitioners, non-initiates and initiates are welcome. If you cannot sit for the entire hour, sit as long as you are able; as Swami Veda has said, "Let the quietness of the mind continue even after you rise...”

“The full moon meditations are an opportunity for us to come together in connecting with the universal mind-field bringing unity, harmony, peace and love. Go into your silence; exhale-release, inhale-accept, forgive & fulfil, with purified heart and mind receive the blessings of the Lineage.” – Swami Ritavan Bharati

Error Correction: The article “Yamas” by Swami Rama in the January 2019 edition of the AHYMSIN Newsletter had an error which has been corrected. The article was corrected by adding the word "not" in the sentence which now reads "Brahmacharya should not be interpreted as repression of all sensual urges."
