HYT-TTP Virtual Workshop

by HYT-TTP Administration Team

After a month long of beautiful inspirations and sharing, the live sessions of the HYT-TTP 40-hour virtual workshop came to an end on April 17th.  We wish to give our heartfelt gratitude to all presenters and participants for making this event a success beyond all our expectation.

The event gathered an amazing 335 participants from 47 countries from around the globe.  Despite the continuing pandemic that prevents us from meeting each other in person, it was such a blessing to be able to gather together virtually and meet our extended AHYMSIN family during this wonderful event that gave a chance to everyone to deepen their studies and practices with the help of the amazing insights shared by the faculty.  We could really feel that we were welcoming everyone into our home and that we were being welcomed in everyone’s home.

Even though the live sessions are now completed, it is still possible to access the video recordings of every session as well as the resources shared by the faculty by registering and making a donation towards the sustenance of Swami Rama Sadhaka Grama (SRSG) during the pandemic through the HYT-TTP website himalayanyogatradition.com

We would like to take this occasion to share with you all the link to the first workshop session, with Swami Ritavan and Adhikari Bhoi, held on March 20th: https://youtu.be/be-ilOwdKSg

We also wish to thank all the workshop participants for their generous donations and all faculty for volunteering their time so selflessly towards this important cause.  Thanks to all, HYT-TTP is able to donate 74840$ to SRSG through this event.

As the workshop participants are best placed to share their impressions and feelings about the programme, let us read the very inspiring testimonies from those who attended the event:

Had I not taken these fabulous courses, it would have felt like allowing gold dust to slip through my fingers unnoticed.  Each and every one of these presenters were precious to me and I now feel closer than ever to the remarkable vision this Himalayan Tradition holds.  Zoom transmits energy and knowledge as easily as in person lectures.  Nothing gets lost in the airwaves. Although I miss the hugs and handshakes, it seems easier to take notes and assimilate in my own home.

I wish to express my gratitude to everyone who contributed to the organisation of this virtual workshop.  For me, this was a great opportunity to be updated/refreshed and inspired by all the teachers, without having to make the trip to India or to the USA.  The other advantage of this workshop is that we can review several times the sessions, which is useful because my English is not perfect, and reviewing the sessions makes that I understand more and more, every time I review them.  So, I truly hope that this kind of workshops will be organised often, I will participate next time for sure!

HTY-TTP 40hrs workshop was a very well organised program. I think it was my best use of zoom platform. This one month is special in my life as every topic discussed in program helped me to intensify my sadhana and to understand myself more deeply. I recognised my few potentials and many obstacles not only on the path of spirituality but also in mundane life.  Now "Tan me manah shiva sankalpam astu" works wonders with me. I am able to implement many actions for which I was struggling in my life.  In spite of suffering from COVID during this period, I never felt weak mentally and the credit goes to this program and also to very elevated, knowledgeable and loving speakers. I felt as I was with my family.  This workshop helped me to contemplate deeply and recognise the slow transformation which is happening within me due to sadhana.  I felt that my sadhana was deepening with every session and this process is continuing.  I am very much thankful to organizers who came forward with this amazing idea and also to every speaker who gave their best selflessly.  Each and every participant was helping me to understand different aspects of life either through questions or by sharing.

Kalpana Metha (India)

Even though i was not able to physically join many times, i did listen to several sessions so far in the replay and am still busy with the project of going through all of them... and i am really enjoying this lecture series a lot. Many people before me already expressed their happiness and contentment with this event and i also want to express my gratitude.  Somehow this thing was magic. Even through this medium of modern technology, the teachings came over with such an intensity – it was really amazing, one could even think the Guru force went into a conspiracy with the computer companies, google and zoom and entered sneakily so many living rooms through the modern devices to spread the message.  Also, the timing was beautiful - right in between Shivaratri and Navaratri. Here and there i got really touched by the lectures and i received a beautiful kick to move on the path (and nice inspirations about what to work on specifically).

THANK YOU!!! for making this happen!

Uta Bisseswar (The Netherlands)

Thank you to all of you for organising the Workshops for the HY-TTP Path.  It brought in even more deeper insights, and it was great to meet online, so many speakers who had the good fortune to have met both Swami Rama and Swami Veda. As I could not attend many due to other commitments and time differences, I actually spent a great deal of time catching up to ensure that I was 'online real time' so to speak.

Shamani Fonseka (Sri Lanka)

What a gift to have been a part of this workshop. From the very first words spoken, to the very end, it was evident that the Guru’s Grace was flowing in and around, connecting us all. There were take-aways from each and every one of the presenters, and the sense of calm abiding in every one of them made me deeply understand and remember the importance of our sadhana, our practice. Through each one of the speakers, I truly felt the presence of the Masters, and to re-establish my own connection to this lineage and this sangha (from all over the world!) is beyond what words can say. Namo namah.

Jenny May (USA)

The HYT-TTP virtual workshop was one of the priceless programmes for me. Initially, was little apprehensive about the workshop as it’s a virtual one and may not be enjoyable. However, as it began with “that sankalpa” sinking into the mind, it turned out to be bathing and basking in the ocean of profound wisdom and knowledge of all the teachers and mentors. Each session was so precious and in-flow that the ears would resist to miss one sentence. Secondly, never imagined that the flow of love and energy could be experienced virtually too. In the end, as we heard Swami Veda Bharatiji’s voice followed by Swami Ritavan’s talk, tears started rolling with absolute stillness. A great learning experiences from this retreat to deepen the practices and stay focused.  I offer the fruits of my experience at the feet of Gurudeva and bow down him and the lineage. My humble pranams and gratitude to all the teachers, faculties and mentors for organizing such a beautiful programme.

I would like to thank you so very much for facilitating my participation in this unique event.  It was a wonderful experience to be connected with so many senior teachers/practitioners from all around the world at once; and it was an indescribable blessing from the Tradition for making this sharing of knowledge, guidance and inspiration possible through each one of the participants to each one of the aspirants.  Surely, all your efforts and dedication in arranging this virtual workshop are worthy of a great congratulations, and its successful outcome would simply be inevitable. It was really a great honor for me.  Immense gratitude to all of you and to all the blessings, Grace and Love coming from the Sages and Great Masters of the Tradition.  May the Divine Mother’s Light and Blessings continue to strengthen us all.

It would be inappropriate to call it my experience of the virtual workshop because what it has created within me over the past four weeks is so real and yet subtle but definitely not virtual.  This workshop came in as a blessing at a time when I was struggling for some improvement in my daily practices. Not that it changed drastically the way I was doing my joints and glands, Hatha Yoga or Pranayama but it provided me many tips to refine my practices. In fact, this complemented the retreat TTP in many ways. Firstly, it helped me add a layer of awareness to every practice while the retreat had taught me the foundational approach to the practices. Secondly, our view of the lineage was limited by the 3-4 teachers we met at the Ashram while this workshop was a window to the repository of the lineage’s teachings flowing through the many rivulets in the form of long-time practitioners spread across the globe. The experiences shared by them has helped me in bringing small changes to my Sadhana. Even though they spoke on different topics and had different personalities, the essence of the tradition, revolving around love and acceptance, was evident through each one of them. The workshop provided a unified experience of the tradition upheld by these teachers and the entire collection of lectures provided an integrated approach to what it means to be a Sadhaka in this tradition and how to move ahead on this path through practical application. I picked up a key takeaway from each session and on reflection I can see how these dots connect together to present a simple yet very effective guidance to a beginner in this tradition. The starting point to this transformative journey begins with a gentle nudge, our Sankalpa, that was so beautifully explained by Swami Ritavan and then reiterated by many of the teachers in their lectures. Having made that Sankalpa in the Sangha on the first day of the workshop, I’ve been witness to a gentle wave of change in many aspects of my life over the last four weeks. For me, this is nothing less than a miracle for only I know how impossible it seemed earlier to practice breath awareness during the course of the day or simply to feel the stillness created after an hour of Hatha Yoga or to be on my meditation seat every day at the same time. Indeed, a miracle by the Grace of the Gurus. Namaste.
