Online Seminar in May

“Living Purposefully, Dying Gracefully,” an online seminar by Swami Radha Bharati, will take place on Saturday the 8th and Sunday the 9th of May 2021 from 14.00-20.00 (Eastern European Summer Time). These lectures will be in English with translation into Greek.

Swami Rama believed that he was sent to this world to teach about love. (Love Whispers, page 39). His life was a demonstration of selfless service and love for all. Love, he said, is the living force of the universe.  Nothing can survive without love; therefore, Life is Love. (Love Whispers, page 28). This mystery is unveiled only to those who truly learn to love others and make love the goal of life. (The Ancient Traveler, page 85)

Both Swami Rama and Swami Veda wrote and lectured extensively on how to apply teachings on love in everyday life. In this workshop, we will focus on how to live purposefully with love as the goal of life, and also how this endeavor prepares one for the end of life. Various practical questions are addressed: How does one practice love? What are the obstacles that stand in the way of love? What are the karmic implications? What are the primary methods and means for achieving one’s goal?

This workshop will include lectures by Swami Radha, some textual excerpts for contemplation and reflection, as well as discussion of ideas and questions. The workshop is based on lectures and books by Swami Rama and Swami Veda Bharati, especially three books by Swami Rama - Sacred Journey:  Living Purposefully, Dying Gracefully; Love Whispers; and The Ancient Traveler: Writings on Love - and one by Dr. Usharbudh Arya (Swami Veda Bharati) - Meditation and the Art of Dying.

# The workshop will be translated into Greek.

# Between the lectures there will be relaxations for yoga nidra; please have by you your yoga mat, a blanket, and a firm pillow.

Swami Radha Bharati: Disciple of Swami Rama of the Himalayas since 1970 and initiated into sannyasa (renunciation) by Swami Veda Bharati in 2007. She has been served as Academic Director of Swami Rama Sadhaka Grama in Rishikesh, India. Swami Radha has been designated a mantra initiator and serves on the AHYMSIN Adhyatma Samiti, or Spiritual Committee. Swami Radha teaches internationally in the USA, Europe, and Asia. She holds an MA and has done further studies in Comparative Philosophy and also has an MA in Public Affairs from Humphrey Institute. She was a lecturer in Philosophy and Ethics at the University of Hawaii and other colleges and worked in Policy Development in Minnesota state government.
