The Meditation Center
On Thursday, March 12, 2020, The Meditation Center (TMC) closed its doors to in-person classes for the first time since it was founded by Swami Rama and Dr. Usharbudh Arya (Swami Veda Bharati) fifty years earlier. Like the rest of the world, we were shocked at this abrupt and unexpected turn of events. A couple of weeks later, the first awkward Thursday Zoom program was scheduled. Since that time, TMC has blossomed under this new format with a full range of classes and programs. There have been book launches, cooking workshops, study groups, yoga and meditation classes, a silent retreat, and many more.
With world wide access and no commute, attendance numbers at the Zoom events have been higher than before the pandemic. Even though we haven't seen our newly remodeled center for several months now, we have come to experience what we knew all along in our hearts. There is more to TMC than an old building. We have connected to each other and to our brothers and sisters around the world in a deeper and more profound way than, perhaps, ever before. We don't yet know when the building will open again. But we have learned that there is more than a building that connects us all.
No matter where in the world you live, please feel free to join us for any of our Zoom offerings. Subscribe to our email list at the bottom of the home page: https://themeditationcenter.org/
We asked for updates from our centers around the world. This is one reply.
