AHYMSIN / HYMTA Retreatby Marylou Nunamaker
Dr. Mark S.G. Dyczkowski, our guest speaker, addressed the 55 attendees and HYMC staff regarding the ‘doctrine of vibration’. He also published a book by that title.
Dr. Dyczkowski taught us more than one technique of breathing from the heart center up through the 12” of space above our head. His council was to begin and master one technique at a time. Dr. Dyczkowski asked us to practice this ‘sacred breath meditation’ every day. The handouts he gave us to study are in both Sanskrit and English. The fellowship and quiet of the retreat afforded us time for yoga practice, tasty food and treats, walking the labyrinth, exploring the lake, vegetable gardens, and vast campus grounds. I left the retreat with a sense of peace, happiness, and contentment having shared this time with my ‘Yoga Family’ of over eleven years. And I look forward to next year’s retreat. Editor’s Note:Dr. Mark Sadashaya Dyczkowski is a disciple of Swami Lakshmanjoo and is a published author on Kashmiri Shaivism. He is also a Sitar player and has performed for large audiences in 11 countries. The Himalayan Yoga and Meditation Center of Illinois is an AHYMSIN affiliate center located in Palatine, Illinois, USA. They offer classes on a regular basis. Their website: https://hymcillinois.com/
