“Families are central training ground for the entire life. Family life is a preparation to accept and love the whole of humanity.” (Swami Rama in Love and Family Life, Pg 4-6). As October ends and November begins, a breath retreat has just started at Swami Rama Sadhaka Grama (SRSG) and will be followed by other retreats.
In October, there have been silence retreats, retreats, teacher training, satsangs in countries around the globe. We hope to receive some articles about some of these events in the future. We are happy to be able to share articles about the Italian TTP retreat “Strength and Power of the Sangha” and “Ashram for a Weekend” in Holland.
Swami Ritavan Bharati has continued his teaching of “Is an Ashram for Me?” with Part 4 in this edition.
‘O aspirant, learn to practice until the last breath of your life.’
“Patanjali, the codifier of yoga science, says, ‘O aspirant, learn to practice until the last breath of your life.’” – Swami Rama in The Essence of Spiritual Life. The article “Talk with Nina Johnson” shares comments from 92 year old Nina Johnson, a Swami Rama disciple who continues to practice both in India and the USA.
Diwali was celebrated at SRSG in October, and we share these pictures of a rangoli made by Aditi Nakoti and Sakshi Nakoti and of some of the lights. Pictures are from Pat Layton, who commented about the day, “At the ashram we spent the day putting clay lamps everywhere - at least a thousand.” There were a number of rangoli on campus, and Joanne Sullivan (Divya) wrote, “Every year I get to witness this beauty from our resident artists, the kids of SRSG. Thank you again and again and again!”
“God is light and love. The love that your heart longs for is the recognition of your Self in all Selves, and the recognition of all Selves in your Self. This light and this love is so sublime that there are no words to express it. Only the deepest state of meditation can show you the depth of that universe of love that is within you.” – Swami Veda Bharati in The Light of Ten Thousand Suns.
