The Evening Lecture Series is part of the larger event “Transitions and Speaking in Silence” in Minnesota, USA, during the month of July. This event will include Swami Veda's only US public appearances in 2012 and his last "Speaking/Silence" series in North America before he enters a 5-7 year vow of silence on 10th March 2013 in Rishikesh, India. The larger event will include three retreats lead by Swami Ritavan Bharati, Swami Ma Radha Bharati, Swami Nityamuktananda Saraswati, and Swami Ma Gita Bharati and HYT-TTP retreats. There will also be a Guru Purnima celebration, a Family Potluck Picnic, and an AHYMS-A meeting. In keeping with the theme, “Transition: Preparing to Receive through Silence,” the evening lecture series will prepare us to receive the traditions teachings while Swamiji is in Silence. Swami Veda Bharati will be the keynote speaker on July 9 and will set the stage for the other speakers which will include Swami Nityamuktananda Saraswati, Dr. Rene David Alkalay, Sanjay Kumar, Salvatore Zambito, Ragani, Dr. Stephen (Stoma) Parker, and others.
The lectures and kirtan will take place on the St. Paul campus of the University of St. Thomas. All Lectures will be held at McNeely, Great Hall, Room 100. The evening lectures are open to the public for a fee and are included at no charge in the four retreats.

Sanjay Kumar is a Sanskrit scholar, a lecturer in the Department of Asian Studies at the University of British Columbia, and will soon be coming to Swami Rama Sadhaka Grama to work with Swami Veda while Swamiji is in silence and working on his writing.
Dr. Stephan Parker, Psy. D., L.P., ERYT-500, is a licensed psychologist in private practice at Northland Therapy Center in St. Paul, MN. An initiate of the Himalayan Tradition since 1971, he has been a yoga teacher since 1974 and is a principal faculty member of the international teacher training program of the Association of Himalayan Yoga Meditation Societies International. He has taught workshops and seminars on yoga, meditation and spiritual practice worldwide. A Sanskrit scholar, he edited the second volume of Swami Veda Bharati's definitive translation and commentary on the Yoga Sutras of Patañjali.
