24 – 28 February 2020 (Several segments of this seminar will be held in the next few years in the month of February,)
Swami Veda Bharati has been one of the highest level world class exponents of the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali in the late 20th and early 21st centuries This seminar will continue Swamiji’s tradition and legacy of interpreting from the point of view of a practitioner this most unique text which codified and systematized yoga philosophy. With several segments of this seminar held in the next few years in the month of February, the emphasis of this first seminar will be the overview of the text, including its different chapters, sections and topics, as well as the foundational principles of Sankhya philosophy, which are mandatory to master to get entry into the deeper meanings of the sutras. The first chapter, Samadhi Pada, will also be covered in detail along with the most important points from Sage Vyasa’s commentary.
A special emphasis will be put on the language and the deeper layers of meanings from the Sanskrit verb roots, prefixes and suffixes hidden in the terminology, as Swami Veda often emphasised, sharing the keys from the language with which we can help unlocking the real meaning of the text.
