"At this time, we are reminded of a unique relationship that is so fulfilling and satisfying. At this time, our efforts now cease with the fruits of contentment from a sadhana well-performed and surrendered.

Celebrating Guru Purnima is a joy beyond words, a deep stillness that echoes a wholeness & holiness. A wholeness that provides the answers to our pursuits, our yearnings and reveals a purpose for life. To live and to love with a heart unconditioned by conflict, and a mind, unified beyond division.

Please accept this gift of remembering: of being reminded to forgive our own faults – limitations and those of others; of aspiring to self-transformation; of receiving the love of the Lineage.”

— Swami Ritavan Bharati

“You are a wave in the universal mind, and you are also the wave that is the universal mind. Can you take a piece of chalk or pencil and draw a boundary line between two waves in a river? Can you draw a line between two waves in the sea and say, ‘Wave number one, you stay on this side, and wave number two, you stay on that side. This is my country and that is your country?’ Can you do that? You cannot do that.

The energy is not in the shape of the water. The energy is that, because of which, the water becomes the wave. So the wave of your mind, and the wave of another’s mind touch each other. When the one mind wave and the other mind wave touch each other, and know that they are loving and embracing a fellow mind wave; when they know that it is the light waves of the mind that are embracing each other – what is that called?

That touching of the minds, that hugging and embracing of the minds? What is the name for that embrace? It is called love.”

— Swami Veda Bharati

Click to listen to Contemplate This!, an interview with Dr. Stephen Parker (Stoma) by Tom Bushlack. In this interview, Stoma talks about experiences he has had in his own life. Tom wrote, “I was introduced to Dr. Stephen Parker by a friend who suggested I reach out to him given my interests in psychology, yoga, and contemplative practices. We worked together for a brief time in therapy, but quickly moved into a spiritual friendship. I received initiation from him in 2013, and he remains one of my principle teachers of contemplation. I am grateful for his warmth and generosity, and he has helped me to understand how yoga as the science of spiritual practice can be fully integrated into my practice as a Christian.”

In August, there will be a Program for Non-Initiates at Swami Rama Sadhaka Grama (SRSG). Please see the Upcoming Events or contact ahymsin@ahymsin.org for more information about this and other programs at SRSG.
