“Following the example of our Beloved Swamiji - Be the generator of enlightenment for others.” - Swami Ritavan Bharati
24th March is the birthday of Usharbudh Arya (who became Swami Veda Bharati). At Swami Rama Sadhaka Grama (SRSG), sadhakas will be celebrating with Akhanda Japa. In 2010, when replying to birthday wishes, Swamiji wrote:
Each day the sun is born anew
Each soul has a new dawn upon waking from sleep
Each mind is born to new realities every moment
Each turning of the atom is an infinite span in which
your consciousness has taken births as many times as
your atoms have turned in all bodies of all your incarnations – and mine.
“The inspiration in the manner and way he lived life, is a model for many more lifetimes,” Swami Ritavan has said.
On 9 March 2013 Swami Veda gave us a practice titled "The Next Five Years and the Rest of Your Life.” Those who have not yet started the practice may want to start. Those who have already started it may want to review it. Please see http://ahymsin.org/main/practice/practice-for-the-next-five-years-and-the-rest-of-your-life.html.
The 14th of July will be the 2nd anniversary of Swami Veda Bharati's Mahasamadhi. There will be a Maha Samadhi Retreat 8th - 16th July at SRSG.
Shri Madhav Kamat
“With deep regret I would like to inform you that Shri Madhav Kamat peacefully left his body early morning on 20th February. He was a trusted friend of Swami Veda and a Life Member of DMT [Dhyana Mandiram Trust]. We will deeply miss his physical presence. May his soul rest in peace. Our prayers are with his family.” - Sadhana Mishra, AHYMSIN General Secretary.
Mr. Kamat, initiated by Swami Rama and guided by Swami Veda Bharati, also served as centre leader for Himalayan Yoga Meditation Association of Bangalore. A successful businessman, he was a sadhaka, who authored the book Unfolding the Mindfield, a collection of experiences woven into a garland of thoughts and beliefs that have shaped his life, demonstrating the harmony that can exist between a business proposition and a quest for spiritual awareness. Among other things, he did a 90 day silence retreat at SRSG and wrote the article Pranams in August 2015 after the Mahasamadhi of Swami Veda.
Shri Madhav Kamat was also a founding member of the Kruger Foundation for Child Aid.
Maha Shivaratri
24 February was Maha Shivaratri. A live video was filmed at SRSG at that time.
