H. H. Sri Swami Rama dropped his body November 13, 1996. The 20th Anniversary of the Mahasamadhi was celebrated on November 13, 2016, at Himalayan Institute Hospital Trust and also at a number of centers.

“Stay linked to the Lineage of the Himalayan Masters, and reduce your ego,” Swami Veda Bharati advised when he was embodied. “… that is my calling ... to make sure that the Lineage is not forgotten, that those who teach and practice yoga remain aware of the initiatory guru lineage - the parampara - and always stay linked to it. Otherwise, the teaching is not authentic and will not be effective. From the ancient rishis and yogis, this sacred knowledge and science has come down to us in a long, long line of direct transmission from teacher to student, from an accomplished master to a deserving disciple - generation after generation, for thousands and thousands of years.’ And he said: “Our task is to preserve this link to the Perennial into the future generations...to preserve the teachings of the Himalayan Tradition exactly in the same way that it was taught to us by our Gurudev, Swami Rama of the Himalayas.”

One of the videos recommended by Swami Veda was How to Tread the Path of Superconscious Meditation by Swami Rama. This video (which is almost 1 ½ hours long) can be watched at this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5oNHIWbziSs.

“Although we face adversity, we still have a choice on how to react to any situation. We can choose peace instead of hate and love instead of fear," Mariella Silva wrote on 9 November 2016. Mariella is a member of the AHYMSIN Executive Committee.

“It's been 14 years of selfless service at SRSG - Swami Rama Sadhaka Grama ashram...for Dr. Prakash & Smt Kirti Dixit. They came when nothing was there to serve Swami Veda and are now still diligent in their sewa with a fully successful campus. The gardens carry fragrant blooms of all colors patiently planted under Kirtiji's supervision, while Dr. Dixit, a retired professor advises in various ashram matters. Thank you, Friends, for being there and may many blessings come your way from the Lineage,” Lalita Arya (Ammaji) writes.
Swami Veda wrote that right in the beginning of SRSG he requested/advised people to avoid using the words like ‘NO’. “Mrs. Kirti Dixit started beautifying the campus with all the plants and flowers. Dr. Prakash Dixit arranged for signs to be placed, not ‘do not pluck flowers’ but ‘let the flowers bloom.’”  Swamiji wrote that that is a beautiful example of applying the principles in Sadhana in Applied Spirituality.

Swami Ritavan Bharati invites us, “Sadhaka Grama (Village of Sadhakas) awaits you. Such an invitation from our Beloved Swami Veda echoes around the globe; for he built a home where love dwells, a place where saints and children tell how hearts learn to live.”

“Twice a day one hour meditation in our meditation hall of Swami Rama Sadhaka Grama. Spiritual seekers from all over the world come here. This is a place for the real authentic ancient teachings. Not for some fancy yoga. The power is in the basics. Sometimes your meditation goes easy and sometimes it feels like a struggle. That is all part of the game,” Marilou Hermens, who has been at SRSG teaching a breath workshop and teaching at the HYT-TTP teacher training retreat, writes. SRSG offers spiritual retreats in the form of the ongoing guest programmes as well as special events.

In March and November, Swami Rama Sadhaka Grama (SRSG) hosts two week Himalayan Yoga Tradition - Teacher Training Program (HYT-TTP) training sessions. A comprehensive education in the Himalayan Yoga Tradition is presented to the students.

Upcoming HYT-TTP teacher training retreats scheduled to take place at SRSG:

  • Level I: March 5-18, 2017, & November 5-18, 2017
  • Level II: March 5-18, 2017
  • Level III: November 5-18, 2017
