In this Special Edition, we would like to share with you photos and words regarding this passing, the Shraad, and the funeral rites at Swami Rama Sadhaka Grama (SRSG) and Haridwar. Because of the desire to know of these things, we are hastily publishing this Special Edition.  We hope to receive more articles for a future edition about these. The regular newsletter (at end of month) might be deferred until next month or might still come out at the end of the month.

Second (because we want to not send too many emails, we've included a personal invitation from Swami Ritavan Bharati below. Also see attachment for the same in Hindi)

If any of you feel inspired to write about Swamiji’s significance or impact in your life, your articles are welcome; please send them to ahymsin@ahymsin.org We prefer to receive articles in a "Word" doc file format or as the body of an email with any pictures separate from the article, not embedded in it.

Jagadananda Das has written Swami Veda follows Grandfather Bhishma (click on title to read), and we are hoping he will write us an article on the observances that have been taking place at SRSG and in Haridwar.

Programmes taking place to honor Swami Veda:

24th July 2015 to 29th July 2015 (6days) - 125000 repetitions of Gayatri Mantra by 12 Pandits.  Purnahuti will be on 29th July with fire offerings.  This is taking place at SRSG.

July 29th 2015 will be "Shodashi Bhandara" with feeding of around 500 Sadhus (including the Mahamandaleswara, Dandi Swamis, Mahants and Swamis and Sadhus) The feast is indicative that the mourning period is now over.

Guru-Purnima celebration will be on the 31st July 2015 ( one day programme only) in Sadhana Mandir and Swami Rama Sadhaka Grama. The Bhandara will be in Sadhana Mandir.

By practicing what Swami Veda has taught we honor him. The Tradition is a living tradition.  Practice is every moment of your life. May the passing of the physical body used by Swami Veda inspire you to greater understanding and realization.

Perhaps you would also want to read or reread these three books:

  • Sacred Journey by Swami Rama
  • Life Here and Hereafter by Swami Rama
