Eleven Women and One Swami

by Sabina Cesaroni

Delhi 5.00 am

No traffic jam this morning going to the airport, no elephants...(!!!), no beggars...too early!

But the smog is there! Like a subtle veil covering everything...

Going back home... but which is the Home...?!

We travel somewhere and we leave a part of us, later again we'll find it and our filing cabinet
will call this part...home. But home is just deeply inside us...no geographic border.

That part was, at least this time, left in India, among the temples, the pilgrims chanting the sacred mantras, the vivid warming fire ceremony, the monsoons still flowing as a river, the satsang and the sharing, the dancingin the temple and that fun and joy expressing every day, at any circumstances..

India – Lonavala, Kaivalyadham Institute.

This trip started here: eleven women and one Swami (Swami Nityamuktananda Saraswati).
It sounds like the title of a movie...and it was: an intense multi-coloured vision of marvelous scenarios...

Notes of a journey: first destination Mumbai.

The group met there, each of us happy to join the novelty, the unknown! Eleven women filled with
enthusiasm and love for discovery (some having never been to India).

We met each other deeply in our beautiful excursions, organized by Swami Nitya; walking in the temples, meeting Shiva, Ganesha, Saraswati, Krishna, the Divine Mother, Shirdi Sai Baba... among the many pilgrims we savoured the tasty incense and the magic in the air.

...Pranaming to the Divinity, within and without ....we received prasad, blessed food for our hungry souls.

Every step was stepping into ancient history...silently; sacredly walking with the Gods.

And Swami Nitya was there to guide us to understand, to make us participate in the beauty and the enchantment of these sacred places.

She offered her presence, her generosity bridging even amongst us one to the other, simply and respectfully.

We had yoga classes, we had ayurveda: treatments of any kind and the body still is thanking for this healthy "vacation"!!

We met in satsang and meditation...participating silently or in words, emotionally moved and inspired...being a "community" (com – munus) “being a gift for each-other”, as Swami Nitya was telling us is one of the meanings of the word “community”.

Two weeks experiencing, observing, filtering the Indian universe...  patiently flowing as water flows, absorbing alltransformations, tasting new discoveries.

Yes, a part of us possibly is still there, creating a memory...traces of passages left there...but also that part is now under our skin, in our thoughts, in the photos showing what a good time we had - together...

Home ......is travelling and discovering a kind of unity everywhere, no separation, no other, being the community of the world and letting the Universe inspire new ever larger horizons
