Canadian Students “Lived Traditions of India”

SRSG recently hosted a Canadian group from the Department of Religious Studies, University of Waterloo (located near Toronto). The group of 12 students, Professor Doris Jakobsh and her graduate student assistant, Asma, spent ten days at the ashram as part of a three month study adventure in India. The course, developed by Dr. Jakobsh, is titled “Lived Traditions of India.” The students will experience first-hand the living religious traditions of India while completing their coursework at the same time.

While at SRSG, the group learned about the Himalayan Yoga Tradition and the basics of relaxation, sitting, hatha and meditation. They were able to experience the ashram lifestyle and use the ashram as a base for exploring the surrounding area.
