Dear fellow wave in the Oceanward river of light,
The gravity pull of the earthly dense objects pulls all things downwards. The flame of spirit is pulled in the opposite direction by the Guru's upward pull. May you be pulled upwards like a flame. Be a flame of light to all thereafter.

July 12, 1984, given to sadhakas at The Meditation Center
This day, Guru Purnima, is celebrated with great encouragement by aspirants who follow the spiritual path. No matter which path is followed, whether it is raja, bhakti, jnana, laya or any other path, all celebrate this day.
Dear Initiate of the Himalayan Tradition,
Om shreem gurave namah;
At this time, we are reminded of a unique relationship that is so fulfilling and satisfying. At this time, our efforts now cease with the fruits of contentment from a sadhana well-performed and surrendered. Celebrating Guru Purnima is a joy beyond words, a deep stillness that echoes a wholeness & holiness. A wholeness that provides the answers to our pursuits, our yearnings and reveals a purpose for life. To live and to love with a heart unconditioned by conflict, and a mind, unified beyond division.

I pray to the Divinity within you.

This day makes the aspirant aware that the light of knowledge is eternally flowing, and overflowing internally and externally both. This day reminds us not to be caught by snares of the charms and temptations of the world, but to discharge one's own duties selflessly, lovingly and skillfully. And do not forget that the aim and purpose of life is to attain enlightenment. It is a great day for the spiritual seekers, and it is enjoyed traditionally by all aspirants who follow the tradition of spirituality.
