Reeny Rowny Cookiesby Margaret WoodsReeny Rowny Cookies are a favourite of East West Yoga Society in Edmonton, Canada. No gathering seems complete without them. They are affectionately named after Irene Zarowny, our member and renowned cookie baker. She created these yummy snacks with love and the finest ingredients. Weeks before Maya Margo Balog’s transition, she was eating practically nothing. However, she did nibble on these cookies. At that time, she requested the recipe in triplicate - one for each of her children. Her wish was for her grandchildren to enjoy these healthy and nutritious treats. Reeny Rowny Cookies
Editor’s Note:At the suggestion of Swami Ritavan, Margaret Woods of East West Yoga Society in Edmonton, Canada, has written our first recipe for the AHYMSIN newsletter. East West Yoga Society is an AHYMSIN affiliate and was founded by Maya Margo Balog. In the group photo, Elaine Anderson, an 80 year old artist who is one of Maya’s original Jasper hikers, is holding a picture of Maya hiking. She is just about finished painting the picture she is holding. The Edmonton group has continued the hikes; to read an article about the hike in 2011, please use this link: http://www.ahymsin.org/docs2/News/1109Sep/01.html We would like to feature more vegetarian recipes in the newsletter. We invite you to share with us a recipe. We would like a story about the dish, the recipe for the dish, and a photo or photos illustrating the story, the dish and/or people enjoying and preparing the dish. Share with us at ahymsin@ahymsin.org To convert between metric and non-metric: http://www.reluctantgourmet.com/conversion_tables.htm
